about us

"Cooking is 80 percent confidence, a skill best acquired starting from when the apron strings wrap around you twice." Barbara Kingsolver.

I love this quote and am so grateful for the culinary foundation that's been passed from my grandmother to my mother, then to me, and now to my own children. I started cooking perched on a stool next to my mom, indeed, when the apron strings wrapped around me twice, my confidence built thru watching, learning, and experimenting. I learned to measure by feel and taste, not by following a recipe.

Over the years, as I've cooked for my own family, I've found that cooking is not so much about gathering and perfecting a vast collection of recipes, but rather mastering basic kitchen principles and building a personal culinary repertoire. I enjoy the process, the planning, the shopping, the prep work, the cooking, and the warmth of sharing the fruit of my hand with those that I love. I'm not a classically trained chef and I don't have a fancy degree but what I bring to WEEKNIGHT DINNERS is my practical know how that's been polished through years of experience.

My passion is food and family.

We know how busy life can be at times, we have 5 kids between us! It's easy to get caught up in the little details of life and sacrifice the important things like sitting down at a meal together. It happens at our house. But, we've made it a family goal to prioritize the habit of eating dinner together.

And, On your busiest nights, we want to help you make it a priority for you, too.

Welcome to WEEKNIGHT DINNERS!
